Register

 Register at the library starting June 17th. Those who register get a book bag, reading log, bookmark, stickers, story news, and more!

Kick-off Magic Show

Come Tuesday, June 18th from 2:00-4:00 pm to the Rindge Commons for a special interactive family-friendly magic show by BJ Hickman. 

The show includes audience
participation, comedy magic, dazzling deceptions, and mind reading miracles. Hickman’s shows are a
popular favorite throughout New England. Hickman also performs at the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, and various venues in Burbank and Beverly Hills, California, and The Palm Beaches in
Florida. He also speaks nationally with his “PediaTRICKS.com” presentation, and performs in schools with programs on Reading, Recycling, and Conflict Resolution. BJ’s book is titled Magic Speaks Louder than Words.

There will be a registration table for everyone to sign up for summer reading and receive their bag with registration materials.

This event will be outdoors. In the event of rain, we'll meet in the Rindge Meeting House.

Read 1000 Minutes

Using one of our physical reading logs, you will log your time reading (or being read to) to win points and raffle tickets. Audiobooks, ebooks, graphic novels, library books, your own books, rereading books...it all counts! The goal is to reach 1000 minutes throughout the summer to complete the challenge and get your prize bag. That's over 16 hours!!

When you've completed the 1000 minutes, turn in your reading log to receive a prize bag?, with your completion certificate, book, yo-yo, and more!

FINALE PARTY | August 8th, 3:30 PM | Rindge Common
Come to celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program with a special family-friendly performance for all ages by the Yo-Yo Guy, John Higby!

John Higby has performed his unique high-energy comedy yo-yo show in 26 countries from New Zealand to Japan, and holds the world yo-yo champion title and 4 Guinness World Records.  He has been featured on David Letterman, Discovery Channel's Time Warp, Comedy Central, The Guinness World Record Show, Fetch with Ruff Ruffman on PBS, and even has his own Topps trading card!  ESPN magazine coined him "Unsung Hero" of 2008.  The Yo-Yo Guy is an interactive performance with yo-yos, unicycle, and a giant yo-yo that John walks on!

Raffle prizes for both children and teens will be drawn!
