TRUSTEE MEETING

Trustees Present: Karla MacLeod, Roberta Gordenstein, Flo Marsh, Lisa Wiley, Linda Dodge
Director: Donna Straitiff
Trustee Alternates; Dick Isakson, Jeff Dickler
 
Acceptance of Donations: Flo motioned to accept the report. Linda seconded. All approved.
                                 
REPORTS:
Secretary’s Reports—Lisa Wiley: Linda motioned to accept the report as edited. Roberta seconded. All approved.
Town Bookkeeper’s Report: Not available.
Treasurer’s Reports—Flo Marsh: Lisa motioned to accept the report pending audit. Linda seconded. All approved.
Director’s Reports—Donna Straitiff: Lisa motioned to accept the report. Flo seconded. All approved.
 
OLD BUSINESS:
 
  1. Website: Donna is meeting with Anne Reed and Susan Wessels to get recommendations on updating the library website. The website subcommittee met and shared ideas with Donna.
  2. Programming: Donna has a few people lined up to do both in person and virtual programming.
  3. Other: The board discussed a possible donation by the 1894 Society of a display case honoring diversity in memory of Rick Sirvint. The group will meet to finalize details before the formal proposal.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
                                               
  1. COVID revisited: The library will continue with the current policies. There will be no onsite afterschool programming.
  2. Other: The Historical Society is looking to purchase a display case to rotate pieces from their collections in memory of IdaMae Harman. There is also a donation pending for an historic clock to be placed in the library. It will be maintained by the Historical Society and the town will cover the insurance.
  • Lisa motioned to accept the donation of a display case and clock from the Historical Society. Flo seconded. All approved.
  1. Donna mentioned that a group called First Amendment Auditors has been entering public spaces and confronting staff. Donna is informed and prepared to facilitate conversations if necessary.
  2. Donna has found a space in the office where there is dampness in the cement walls. She is working with town facilities department to address any issues and will report findings.
 
 
OTHER GROUP REPORTS:
  1. Ingalls 1894 Association: There is a meeting this week.
  2. Friends of the Ingalls Memorial Library: The Friends met and will take advantage of the Harvest Fair to encourage membership.
