TRUSTEE MEETING
Minutes
August 23, 2022
Present: Karla MacLeod, Flo Marsh, Linda Dodge, Roberta Gordenstein, Lisa Wiley
Trustee Alternate: Taylor Ratcliffe; Director: Donna Straitiff
Absent: Trustee Alternate: Dick Isakson
Acceptance of Donations – Page 1: Roberta motioned to accept the report. Flo seconded. All
approved.
REPORTS:
● Secretary’s Reports—Lisa Wiley: Linda motioned to accept the report as amended.
Roberta seconded. All approved.
● Town Bookkeeper’s Report: Lisa motioned to accept the report pending audit. Flo
seconded. All approved.
● Treasurer’s Reports—Flo Marsh: Roberta motioned to accept the report pending audit.
Lisa seconded. All approved.
● Director’s Reports—Donna Straitiff: The library has received a grant from the Millipore
Foundation for $10,000 to be used for STEM programming. There will be a public
hearing on September 12, 4:30. Lisa motioned to accept the report. Flo seconded. All
approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Bookkeeper position: This position is still open and being advertised through various
media.
2. Grant Updates: The Hunt Foundation grant is in process.
3. Community Survey update: There are 40 respondents to the survey, which remains
open to the end of the month.
4. Library of Things policy: Donna is still researching policy templates.
5. Other: The library will have a special public meeting on Monday, Sept. 12 at 4:30pm for
a hearing to accept the Millipore grant and for a budget workshop.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Carpet: The town is looking into the prospect of replacing the carpets.
2. Budget: The town has requested budget preparation begin earlier. The trustees will
begin the process at the Sept. 12th public meeting.
3. Crazy 8’s Math Club: Donna applied to participate in this free program of math games
and activities for youth. It will be incorporated into the afterschool and homeschool
programs.
OTHER GROUP REPORTS:
1. Ingalls 1894 Association: Nothing to report. They will have a meeting soon.
2. Friends of the Ingalls Memorial Library: The group is planning programs for the
Nov./Dec. holidays.
