Art Display Policy
- Limited display space is available in the library for use by community organizations and individuals engaged in cultural, intellectual, or artistic activities. Proposed displays or exhibits must be in the public interest and consistent with the role of the Ingalls Memorial Library. They may not advertise a commercial enterprise, nor be of a political or religious nature.
- Requests to display exhibits shall be made to the Library Director. The library reserves the right to determine the schedule and duration of exhibits and displays. The library also reserves the right to refuse any exhibit or display.
- The use of the Ingalls Memorial Library for display or exhibition does not imply advocacy or endorsement of the display by the Ingalls Memorial Library, its Trustees, or the town of Rindge.
- Library displays and exhibits will take precedence over any other use of available space.
- Displays must conform to the space restrictions of the assigned area, and must not interfere with the general operation of regular library activities. They must not detract from the general appearance of the library.
- No prices may be posted on the art works, or admission charged. A price list may be discreetly placed in the exhibit. However, no sales may be made on the premises.
- The artist will assume full responsibility for the works exhibited. Neither the Ingalls Memorial Library nor the Town of Rindge shall assume any responsibility or obligation for any loss or damage to any item or items so displayed. The displayed items are not and will not be covered under any insurance policy owned by the Town of Rindge.
- The artist will complete Library Art Display Release Form before the exhibit is mounted.
- The Ingalls Memorial Library and its staff assume no responsibility for the preservation, protection or possible damage to or theft of any of the items displayed.
- The owner of the displayed items is responsible for retrieving the items at the end of the display period.
